📋 Description

• Test and commission HV and LV substation equipment to meet project timelines and budget requirements • Manage risk assessments and method statements while maintaining high site safety standards • Lead on-site commissioning teams and provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship • Create technical documentation, including test records, reports, and non-conformance tracking • Collaborate with project stakeholders to resolve technical queries • Manage site-based commissioning resources • Perform fault finding on protection schemes • Integrate third-party IEDs • Ensure high-voltage substation projects are tested, commissioned, and integrated safely and in compliance with regulatory and quality standards

🎯 Requirements

• Substantive experience in testing and commissioning HV power system equipment within generation, transmission, or distribution environments • Ability to manage and troubleshoot complex protection schemes and substation automation systems • Understanding of IEC61850, Modbus, and IEC 104 communication protocols • Expertise using industry-standard test equipment such as Omicron, Sverker, or Megger • Ability to travel extensively to projects and field assignments across the UK and globally • Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as required • Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments • Formal education and a University Bachelor or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is nice to have
