• Process journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses to support the monthly close process. • Prepare and review monthly financial data, including assets, liabilities, and payroll entries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. • Reconcile accounts each month to maintain accurate ledgers and reporting integrity. • Assist with both internal and external audits, including preparation of required documentation. • Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and internal controls in compliance with GAAP and other applicable standards. • Support the preparation of government filings and tax-related documentation. • Prepare and maintain complex financial reports and records in accordance with state and federal regulations. • Collaborate with various departments to analyze revenues, expenses, payroll allocations, and cost containment efforts across grants and contracts. • Mentor accounting staff and support the development of best practices across the accounting team. • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. • Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience. • CPA certification preferred. • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles. • Experience with accounting software (such as NetSuite or similar systems). • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and Word. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
