📋 Description

• Research the broader market around GitLab's AI-powered DevSecOps platform and develop recommendations on where GitLab should play • Build investment theses with Product and Engineering leaders • Maintain competitive and market landscape analyses, including competitor strategy, product direction, positioning, pricing, M&A and funding activity • Identify markets and adjacencies GitLab should not pursue • Run build, buy or partner analyses and recommend strategic paths • Produce strategy memos, decks and business cases for executives and the Board • Feed market and inorganic-growth perspectives into annual and long-range planning • Frame strategic partnership opportunities and coordinate with Strategic Partnerships • Manage end-to-end acquisition processes from outreach through closing and integration • Develop valuations, commercial integrity assessments and negotiation support • Lead cross-functional diligence across Product, Engineering, Security, Finance, Legal and People • Prepare NDAs, LOIs and purchase agreements with Legal and outside counsel • Lead post-acquisition integration and track outcomes against roadmap and business goals • Maintain relationships with founders, executives, investors, bankers and advisors

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years across corporate development, corporate strategy, strategy consulting or technology investing • 5+ years leading acquisitions end to end in enterprise software • Skilled in market sizing, competitive analysis and landscape mapping • Skilled in valuation, financial modeling, deal structuring, negotiation and integration planning • Working understanding of software development, DevSecOps and the AI landscape • Ability to form strategic points of view from incomplete information and test them against data • Ability to communicate decision-ready updates and present trade-offs to executives and the Board • Ability to build trust across Product, Engineering, Finance and Legal and influence without authority • Familiarity with the DevSecOps, security, AI and open source ecosystems preferred • Value GitLab's all-remote lifestyle and values
