📋 Description

• Own the standard for service design delivery quality across all engagements • Ensure work is strategically sound, systemic, and helps clients close gaps between stakeholder experiences and operational delivery • Provide delivery governance with executive partners, engagement leads, and senior practitioners • Identify delivery risks and course-correct before problems compound • Partner with practice leadership to evolve Harmonic’s service design approach • Develop senior designers into confident consultants and executive-level partners • Manage designers, embed in engagements, model excellence, and create growth opportunities • Coach communication, facilitation, and relationship skills for high-stakes client interactions • Build team capability in design and consulting • Work directly with clients on complex service design engagements • Mentor engagement leads and practitioners • Facilitate high-stakes workshops and alignment sessions • Guide clients toward systemic solutions • Build relationships with director-level and higher client stakeholders • Translate Harmonic’s value into client language • Partner with Design Operations on resourcing, project setup, and staffing by identifying skill gaps, capacity constraints, and development opportunities • Report to the CEO

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in design • At least 5 years in a leadership capacity within a consultancy, agency, or in-house environment • Demonstrated success leading complex service design engagements with Fortune 500 or similarly sophisticated clients • Deep expertise in creating systemic change through service design • Mastery of service strategy, service blueprinting, journey mapping, co-creation, and systems thinking • Mastery in defining and adapting engagement approaches based on best practices, client needs, and new evidence • Experience and a clear point of view on the role of AI in services and service design • Strong point of view on how service design helps organizations address challenges • Ability to tie design outcomes to business metrics and client KPIs • Comfort discussing project P&L, scope, and delivery risk • Experience articulating design value to executive audiences • Demonstrated prowess in facilitation, storytelling, writing, and presentation • Ability to translate complex systemic challenges into compelling narratives for executives • Comfortable in ambiguity and able to guide groups toward decisions • Degree in Design, HCI, Social Sciences, Business, or equivalent professional experience • 10–25% travel
