📋 Description

• Manage the infrastructure supporting the bank in cloud environments and third-party data centres • Run FoundationDB clusters and build tooling for hitless upgrades • Manage Kubernetes • Write infrastructure as code using Pulumi and CDK • Run the Bazel build farm • Own the deployment pipeline from CI to production • Build replica clusters and multi-region failover capabilities • Conduct chaos engineering and test system failure handling • Manage security access, CircleCI pipelines, DataDog integration, cloud spend, and resource usage • Build self-hosted infrastructure for hybrid-cloud deployments and reduce single-vendor reliance • Improve Kubernetes scalability and the build farm • Build PKI infrastructure and a global HTTP routing layer • Make infrastructure architecture decisions • Maintain and improve production reliability • Provide CI/CD, security access, monitoring integration, and safe deployment infrastructure for engineering teams • Identify and resolve scale, security, compliance, networking, and architectural issues proactively • Work with backend teams to stress-test database and compute platforms

🎯 Requirements

• Solid systems experience running container orchestration in production • Experience writing infrastructure as code • Strong IP networking knowledge sufficient to debug issues • Experience building and managing production cloud environments • Experience with networking, identity management, and compute at scale • Programming experience beyond Bash scripting and YAML • Proficiency or experience with TypeScript, Python, Go, or functional languages • Comfort with small teams, shifting priorities, and high autonomy • Willingness to learn Clojure after joining • Comfort learning new languages and approaches • Successful completion of background screening, including right-to-work, criminal record, credit history, social media, and professional reference checks • Legal right to work in the UK
