• Assist in planning and execution of business development opportunities from identification through completion • Identify and secure renewable power customers and/or transactions and manage the prospect pipeline • Identify and develop opportunities to acquire or develop new power facilities in U.S. and/or international markets • Coordinate with internal Hanwha resources and external consultants to assess project viability and manage projects • Participate in project due diligence • Liaise between project development and financial analysis teams to analyze deal structures and economic and tax assumptions • Set schedules for tasks and milestones; monitor milestones and prepare progress reports • Prepare presentations for Senior Management • Develop and maintain relationships with U.S. and/or international industry and government contacts • Obtain supporting data and competitive intelligence on market opportunities • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, regulations, financial incentives, power pricing, and structured financing transactions • Prepare project budgets and assist with budget reviews • Understand, negotiate, and obtain environmental, local, state, and federal development permits • Negotiate and obtain utility interconnection agreements • Negotiate contract terms with project finance, engineering, project management, procurement, and legal teams • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes • Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Development
• Minimum 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in renewable energy development, particularly U.S. solar PV power projects, business development, project development, marketing, or comparable experience • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or similar discipline • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time • Applicable commercial negotiation experience with commercial management, negotiation, and influencing skills • Experience managing the solar energy development process • Intimate knowledge of renewable energy power markets and their dynamics • Ability to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and trends • Ability to build and maintain relationships with off-takers and industry leaders • Track record closing renewable energy deals • Strategy, general management, and entrepreneurial expertise acquired through leadership positions in the solar and renewable energy industry • Strong prioritization, communication, and organizational skills • Ability to quickly take on new tasks and adapt to new circumstances • Entrepreneurial attitude and diplomatic approach • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
