📋 Description

• Take the lead on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters • Advise businesses on day-to-day workforce issues, strategic projects and employment disputes • Work with founders, senior leadership teams, HR teams and in-house counsel • Provide clear, pragmatic advice to help clients manage risk and achieve commercial objectives • Advise SMEs and larger companies on general employment law matters • Advise on business restructures and redundancies, including collective redundancies • Oversee discrimination and whistle-blowing cases • Advise on TUPE transfers, including corporate support • Draft consultancy agreements and advise on employment status, including IR35 • Draft and advise on director service agreements and contracts of employment • Manage disciplinary and grievance processes • Handle senior executive severances • Collaborate with colleagues across Corporate, Commercial and other practice areas • Manage an independent caseload as part of Harper James’ consultant model

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years’ PQE • Strong experience across both contentious and non-contentious employment law • Demonstrable experience advising employers on complex workforce issues • Experience managing Employment Tribunal litigation • Ability to manage matters independently • Ability to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused advice • Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills • Experience advising founder-led businesses, start-ups and scale-ups would be advantageous • Quick learner, ready to adapt to new systems and technologies • Interest in using AI tools to improve efficiency and productivity • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook • Ability to confidently navigate SharePoint • Keen eye for detail when drafting documents • Must be an experienced Employment Solicitor
