📋 Description

• Own search quality across Elasticsearch filter search and AI search from natural language to filters • Build relevance benchmarks, labeled query sets, offline evaluations, and online metrics • Track whether searches end in a saved result, refined search, or abandoned search • Tune Elasticsearch mappings, analyzers, keyword and industry matching, scoring, synonyms, and messy company names and domains • Build semantic and hybrid search by embedding company and person profiles and tuning vector/keyword blending • Use embeddings to classify companies, group similar companies, and power related-company functionality • Improve AI search through prompts, schemas, model selection, and evaluations • Identify missing or incorrect data, measure impact, and recommend fixes, enrichment, or purchases • Benchmark data coverage, accuracy, and freshness against external sources and turn results into a roadmap • Ship code across a TypeScript backend and Python analysis tooling • Use AI to label data, analyze queries, and run evaluations at scale

🎯 Requirements

• Senior Search & Relevance Engineer for a fast-growing, US-based B2B SaaS company • AI-native: builds with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar every day • Product mindset focused on user outcomes and search failures • 4+ years working on search, ranking, or recommendations • Production Elasticsearch or OpenSearch experience; Solr or Vespa also count • Production experience with embeddings, including model selection and evaluation • Experience with vector indexes such as Elasticsearch dense_vector/kNN, pgvector, or Qdrant • Experience with hybrid ranking such as reciprocal rank fusion • Ability to manage index size, latency, and re-embedding cost at hundreds of millions of rows • Experience building relevance evaluations using judgment sets, precision@k, and nDCG • Strong SQL and Python skills • Comfortable shipping in a TypeScript/Node backend with AI agents • Experience shipping LLM features, including prompting, structured outputs, eval harnesses, and cost/latency trade-offs • Comfortable with messy entity data, company matching, deduplication, classification, and industry taxonomies • Experience on a marketplace, e-commerce, or B2B SaaS search team • Entity resolution or learning-to-rank experience • Experience evaluating or integrating third-party data vendors
