• Oversee and administer US-specific benefits, including but not limited to Group Health Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, 401k retirement plan, and US holidays • Track and report US employee compensation changes monthly to the global payroll team • Lead all tasks related to remote US office administration, including but not limited to managing US office mail, US voicemail, US co-working space, US Ops correspondence, US Ops team logins, and US Ops payments • Maintain accurate personnel files and manage US HR records in HRIS • Conduct audits, file benefit-related annual reports, and complete other tasks to ensure HR compliance • Collaborate and support Global and Regional Operations colleagues – especially other Regional Ops Leads – and other functional teams (e.g., Finance, Systems) on additional special projects for the organization
• 5-10 years of progressively responsible people operations/HR experience within the United States or with an organization with U.S. operations and remote employees based in multiple U.S. states • Strong preference for experience working in People and Business Operations with rapidly growing international nonprofit or social enterprise organizations • Experience with most or all of the following areas of operations/HR: US city, state, and federal payroll taxes and deductions; US city, state, and federal paid family leave policies and compliance; 401K plan administration and compliance; US health insurance policies and compliance; Other standard benefits provided by non-profit organizations for US-based employees; US non-profit organization insurance policies and compliance; US non-profit state registrations and compliance • Willingness to quickly develop proficiency in any areas of deficit • Willingness to roll up sleeves and handle all aspects of an organization's US operations/HR needs from routine and sometimes bureaucratic tasks to high-level strategy discussions • Well-organized and strong attention to detail, while being able to zoom out and understand the big picture • Strong ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality in complex situations, and handle sensitive information, data, and issues with mature and discreet professionalism • Demonstrated track record as flexible and a self-starter and independent contributor, including comfort with ambiguity and dynamic, fast-paced environments and work streams • Strong communication skills in multiple fora (written communications, public speaking, teamwork, and upward management) • Ability to learn quickly • Passionate about global development and social impact • Experience working in international, cross-cultural, and diverse teams (preferred)
