📋 Description

• Protect and promote Global Citizen’s brand in Europe, the Middle East and Africa • Source and pitch news from and for the organization • Build and maintain a network of journalists and social influencers • Lead Global Citizen’s PR activities in key EMEA markets • Oversee PR agencies working on Move Afrika and develop and execute the Move Afrika PR plan • Drive Global Citizen’s G7 and G20 media strategy and tactics • Lead outreach and maintain relationships with journalists at tier-1 outlets and platforms • Formulate innovative and timely pitches elevating Global Citizen’s campaigns, events, and executive spokespeople • Develop and execute PR strategies for priority initiatives in coordination with the New York office and internal departments • Foster relationships with top-tier entertainment, hard news, and political reporters • Ideate, pitch, and secure innovative stories • Identify and pursue interview and thought leadership opportunities for senior executives and spokespeople • Lead PR campaigns for campaigns, events, brand partnerships, and special projects across EMEA • Draft, proofread, and edit press releases, interview briefs, press statements, bios, and backgrounders • Coordinate logistics for live events, press conferences, junkets, and briefings • Manage public relations agencies in EMEA • Liaise with departments before and during live events and tentpole campaigns • Schedule meetings, calls, media interviews, and executive briefings across time zones • Maintain and organize PR team drives and archives

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree or equivalent, ideally in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Journalism or Marketing • 5-8 years experience running global campaigns in entertainment, media or politics • Strong media relationships across top tier hard news, entertainment and/or political media outlets in key markets • Strong understanding of the global news landscape and evolving digital media landscape, particularly social-first new media • Excellent communication skills and ability to write varied high-level materials and present complex topics clearly and succinctly • Ability to understand and analyze complex information, turn it into accessible messaging, and make thoughtful recommendations • Experience executing press events and/or activations • Confidence liaising with members of the press and high-profile individuals • Strong news sense and analytical skills, with ability to anticipate and mitigate potential problems • Nimble, diligent, organized, adaptable, and attentive to detail in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities • Team-oriented, resourceful, proactive, positive, and inclusive approach • Confidentiality, discretion and trustworthiness • Additional language skills desired • Ability to use AI tools in daily work • Passion for global development and Global Citizen’s mission and brand • Must be authorized for employment in the UK or the EU
