📋 Description

• Design and operate the application layer of the Azure cloud platform • Create multi-region deployment patterns across Azure regions for high availability and resilience • Operate AKS workloads, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure API Management, and Azure Front Door • Design advanced CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security gates, and approval workflows • Implement zero-downtime Blue/Green, Canary, and rolling deployment strategies • Standardize branching, release models, deployment processes, and reusable pipeline templates • Define and maintain Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code for Azure resources • Partner with Infrastructure teams on networking, identity, and foundational services • Own application configuration using Azure App Configuration and Key Vault • Eliminate configuration drift and ensure parity across Dev, Test, Staging, and Production • Design regional failover and application-layer high availability • Implement and tune Azure Monitor and Application Insights monitoring • Establish actionable alerting and lead root cause analysis for incidents • Improve resilience, performance, and recovery processes • Create self-service templates, documentation, and golden paths for engineering teams • Coach teams on deployment patterns, observability, and cloud-native practices • Bridge Software Engineering and Infrastructure teams • Build cost awareness into deployment patterns and architectural standards • Optimize cloud service usage and prevent waste through right-sizing, lifecycle policies, and automation

🎯 Requirements

• Senior-level experience in application platform engineering on Azure • Experience with multi-region Azure architecture • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) • Experience with Azure Functions and serverless/event-driven services • Experience with Azure Service Bus • Experience with Azure API Management (APIM) • Experience with Azure Front Door • Experience building advanced CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, security gates, and approval workflows • Experience implementing zero-downtime deployment strategies, including Blue/Green, Canary, and rolling deployments • Experience standardizing branching and release models • Experience creating reusable pipeline templates and deployment patterns • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) and GitOps principles • Experience with Terraform for Azure infrastructure • Knowledge of Azure networking, identity, and foundational services • Experience with Azure App Configuration and Key Vault • Experience designing regional failover and high availability • Experience with Azure Monitor and Application Insights • Experience leading root cause analysis for platform and deployment-related incidents • Experience creating self-service templates, documentation, and golden paths • Experience optimizing AKS, serverless, and messaging usage for performance per dollar • Experience with cloud spend management, right-sizing, lifecycle policies, and automation
