📋 Description

• Write high-quality Burmese translations of analytical reports and other analytical products developed by the Myanmar Witness investigative team on conflict incidents and trends in Myanmar • Translate content between English and Burmese, and vice versa • Translate and adapt website content, visual assets, infographics, presentations, reports, training materials, and multimedia materials • Work with the Investigations Manager/Editor, Project Coordinator, and Social Media and Website Manager to understand translation requirements and timelines • Upload Burmese versions of analytical reports to the CIR website and ensure correct formatting • Provide ad hoc translation support for website content and other project materials • Consult investigators and Social Media Team members to resolve content ambiguities and ensure accurate translations • Work with the project team to review translations for alignment with the Burmese context • Report to the Social Media and Website Manager and Project Coordinator, flag concerns, and provide progress updates

🎯 Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Burmese (Myanmar Language) • Proven track record of Burmese translations • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and PDF editing tools • Prior experience conducting translations about research focused on conflict trends and incidents in Myanmar and/or Southeast Asia • Experience with website management, especially content upload (highly desirable) • Demonstrable experience supporting CSOs working in the Myanmar context (highly desirable)
