The Centre for Information Resilience is an independent organization focused on exposing human rights violations and threats to democracy through open source research and digital investigations. The organization works on a multitude of project areas, including Myanmar, Afghanistan, Sudan, and Russia, often collaborating with media and local partners to amplify its impact. CIR has also established the CIR Open Source Film Awards to recognize impactful open source investigations in journalism. Their work involves verifying footage, gathering evidence, and publishing reports on issues like police violence, military tactics, and disinformation.

📋 Description

• Act as a professional, trustworthy, and reliable interface between the project and CSO partner organisations • Participate in regular communication and coordination meetings with CSOs • Support development and implementation of the capacity-building and external-engagement strategy • Apply open-source investigation and analytical techniques to collect, collate, verify, and analyse open-source data • Record sourced information in project databases with preset information fields • Prepare bespoke training materials and conduct pre- and post-training assessments • Oversee or conduct joint open-source research projects with external CSO partners • Mentor CSOs, civil society actors, and Myanmar Witness team members on OSINT, visualisation, digital security, vicarious-trauma mitigation, and joint investigations • Deliver in-person training outside Myanmar and remote training in English • Monitor training effectiveness, document feedback, and contribute to internal reviews • Work closely alongside other trainers and investigators

🎯 Requirements

• Proven track record in OSINT-driven investigations • Experience using geolocation and chronolocation techniques • Experience with social media monitoring • Experience delivering OSINT training and mentorship, both in-person and remotely • Ability to deliver training ranging from beginner to intermediate/advanced topics • Willingness and ability to travel for capacity-building and in-person training • Ability to work proficiently in English • Highly desirable: prior OSINT research experience on Myanmar and/or Southeast Asia • Highly desirable: experience supporting external stakeholders, including CSOs, with digital investigations
