📋 Description

• Build a policymaker relationship network across Pacific Northwest state and local government • Craft and execute legislative, regulatory, and political strategies, including hearing preparation, testimony delivery, and regulatory proceeding participation • Build and maintain coalitions of political, advocacy, and industry allies • Represent Instacart in trade associations • Collaborate with Policy Development, Legal, and Public Engagement teams on integrated advocacy campaigns • Manage external consultant relationships and annual government affairs budgets • Provide regular reporting and internal materials on policy developments

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of state or local government, policy, or corporate government relations experience • Established policymaker relationships and confidence engaging elected officials and executives • Deep understanding of state and local lawmaking and regulatory processes • Strategic thinking with polished oral and written presentation skills • Ability to thrive under pressure and balance long- and short-term priorities • Resourceful and entrepreneurial with a bias toward action • Willingness to travel frequently • Collaborative approach and adherence to internal rules and protocols for travel, expenses, budgeting, and tracking • Expertise in labor/workforce, ecommerce, or tech policy preferred • Experience with Slack preferred
