📋 Description

• Drive research projects from initial question through production • Design measurements and run them on ProbeNet and public platforms such as RIPE Atlas • Validate measurements against ground truth • Integrate research results into BigQuery and Airflow pipelines • Measure claims about IP address data against ground truth • Work on paper submissions to top venues with academic collaborators • Co-supervise PhD summer research interns • Present work externally at IMC, TMA, RIPE, and NANOG • Present work internally within the company • Set research direction independently and own projects from question to delivery

🎯 Requirements

• A completed (or close to completion) PhD in computer science or a closely related field, with a dissertation in Internet measurement; applications without one will not be considered • Industry experience does not substitute for the PhD requirement • At least two first-author papers at ACM IMC, SIGCOMM, CoNEXT, PAM, TMA, NSDI, USENIX Security, NDSS, IEEE S&P, ACM CCS, ACM SIGCOMM CCR, or IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking • Hands-on experience designing and running Internet-scale measurements • Experience with ZMap-style scanning, traceroute campaigns, RIPE Atlas, BGP collectors such as RouteViews or RIS, or DNS measurements • Deep knowledge of BGP, address allocation, RIRs, WHOIS, RPKI, IPv6, DNS, anycast, CDNs, and traceroute-analysis artifacts • Statistical rigor, including validation design, uncertainty quantification, and distinguishing signals from measurement artifacts • Strong Python or Go skills • Fluent SQL on multi-terabyte datasets, particularly BigQuery • Clear writing for reviewers and customers • English-language application materials are implied by the posting language
