JHU EEHPC is the Energy Efficient High Performance Computing Lab at Johns Hopkins University, led by Tinoosh Mohsenin. The lab focuses on designing medical, health, and wearable devices and developing tiny, energy-efficient wearable and mobile computing systems through cross-layer approaches spanning algorithms, architecture, hardware, and system integration. It applies high-performance computing and artificial intelligence methods to smart health monitoring, robotics, autonomous navigation, and related domains, aiming to revolutionize healthcare, transportation, and public utilities.

📋 Description

• Assist with designing, producing, and maintaining data pipelines for data acquisition, management, and transformation • Develop back-end code for data web applications and convert raw data into usable information • Contribute to ETL/ELT development and maintenance across structured and unstructured data sources • Assist with web data scraping systems for automatic data acquisition • Assist with data architecture design and ongoing support • Perform database input/output operations and queries • Create scripts to clean, transform, and analyze data • Contribute to production data pipelines using data warehousing systems • Implement software to monitor data quality and detect anomalies • Perform daily manual data quality assurance tasks • Maintain and troubleshoot software infrastructure • Source and analyze data, visualize findings, and generate insights for research projects and organizational requests • Assist developers, analysts, data scientists, researchers, policy experts, and other partners • Communicate with division leadership and team members • Collaborate with external partners, contractors, and vendors • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree • Three years of related experience • Additional education may substitute for required experience • Additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, subject to the JHU equivalency formula • Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud-based analytics and data engineering platforms preferred • Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines in cloud environments preferred • Experience developing and maintaining Python-based data engineering solutions preferred • Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, version control systems, and CI/CD deployment practices preferred • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions preferred • Knowledge of data lake, lakehouse, and data warehouse architectures preferred • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and related data services preferred • Understanding of data governance, security, and data lifecycle management principles preferred • Pre-employment background check required • Seasonal flu vaccination required, subject to exceptions
