📋 Description

• Execute database migrations with enterprise and Private Cloud customers onboarding to Laravel Cloud, primarily using MySQL and Postgres • Own the technical execution of migrations during customer calls • Assume ownership of the PlanetScale relationship and migration work • Productise repeatable migration patterns through documentation, decision logic, and edge-case handling • Automate recurring migration requests and eliminate manual effort • Own broader application and service migrations onto Private Cloud when database migration work permits • Write documentation, runbooks, and reference material for Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering • Monitor alternatives such as PlanetScale, Aurora, and Percona for pricing, instance classes, and capabilities • Advise on changes needed to keep Laravel Cloud’s database offering competitive

🎯 Requirements

• Genuine strength across both MySQL and Postgres • Direct experience with database migrations in a customer-facing capacity • Experience running database migration processes alongside engineers and customers • Comfortable owning technical execution rather than advising on it • Ability to identify repeatable patterns in bespoke work and package them without over-engineering • Strong written and async communication • Comfort operating in a role where part of the scope is yours to define • Experience at a database tooling or infrastructure company such as PlanetScale, Percona, or Vitess (nice to have) • Experience building tooling or automation around migration workflows (nice to have) • Familiarity with AWS-based infrastructure or PaaS environments (nice to have) • Experience with AWS DMS or comparable migration tooling (nice to have) • Track record of writing, speaking, or teaching publicly about database topics (nice to have) • Some familiarity with PHP applications (nice to have)
