📋 Description

• Oversee and guide a diverse team of designers and drafters in creating structural designs, calculations, and technical drawings for substation projects • Lead design reviews and mentor junior designers • Resource allocation for direct reports and coordination with engineering manager • Identify and resolve project issues and design interferences • Interact directly with clients to review and resolve technical project related issues without supervision • Collaborate with engineers/designers across disciplines to assure a complete, high-quality product • Ensure project deliverables meet technical quality, accuracy and Company/Client standards • QA/QC site steel and foundation plans, sections, details, and corresponding BOMs • Coordinate vendor equipment mounting templates to ensure electrical assets can mount easily • Ensure engineering design details are properly represented for greenfield substations • Perform design due diligence for site expansion (brownfield) work within existing substations • Provide support to site-civil and physical design groups in laying out plans, sections, and details • Manage project timelines and stay updated on relevant technologies to ensure structural integrity and delivery of projects

🎯 Requirements

• AA/2-year degree in Engineering Technology - CAD or related scientific/technical discipline • 8+ years of relevant experience in steel design • Additional direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education • Demonstrated Understanding of design concepts associated with high voltage electrical substations • Proficient in Substation Power Delivery Software: Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation • Preferred: 3D Modeling Using Autodesk Inventor • Ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team of designers and drafters • Experience with QA/QC of steel and foundation plans, sections, details and BOMs • Ability to interact directly with clients and resolve technical project related issues without supervision • U.S. residency required; candidates must be located in the United States • Sponsorship and other immigration related monetary benefits are not available for this position
