📋 Description

• Define and evolve the mobile test pyramid for React Native • Decide where end-to-end testing is appropriate and where logic belongs in faster testing layers • Set standards for mobile release readiness • Rotate across product teams to improve quality practices • Define testing approaches across products and make coverage, reliability, and speed trade-offs • Establish performance benchmarks for critical systems • Build AI agents to exploratory-test changes and catch issues before production • Use AI tools for test authoring, failure clustering, coverage insights, and proposed fixes • Determine where AI provides leverage and where human review is required • Discover testing gaps and help teams build comprehensive suites • Improve test environments and data fixtures for usability and reliability • Reduce test flakiness and time to diagnosis through root-cause work • Partner with product and engineering on shift-left quality and clarify acceptance criteria • Use Datadog, Sentry, and Grafana to connect production issues with test coverage and customer impact • Ensure teams establish and meet Service Level Objectives • Conduct targeted exploratory testing for high-risk releases • Collaborate with software engineering, product, and design to set quality direction

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Maestro or Detox • 5+ years in quality engineering or test automation • Experience maintaining stable automated test suites • Experience working in a scaled engineering environment with multiple teams • Hands-on coding experience writing test code, frameworks, CI pipelines, and helper scripts • API and contract testing experience, with a point of view on test data and environment strategy • Experience setting up and using Service Level Objectives and driving measurable improvements • AI-assisted working experience in test authoring, failure triage, or coverage analysis • Experience coaching other disciplines in quality • Experience shaping CI/CD pipelines for test reliability, including flakiness reduction, parallelisation, artefact management, and runtime control • Proactive, low-ego, and clear communicator • Able to operate independently and drive improvements end-to-end • Evidence of 3–4 projects with measurable quality impact • Experience testing React Native apps preferred • Mobile performance and reliability experience preferred • React Native, TypeScript, Expo, EAS, GraphQL, Relay, Jest, React Testing Library, Maestro • Kotlin, PHP 8 (Symfony), AWS, Postgres, RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes • GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jira, Confluence, Datadog, Sentry, Grafana • Must have the right to work in the UK
