• Deliver Marie Curie’s programme of local public affairs activity, identifying opportunities to influence policy and practice across England. • Build and maintain strong relationships with local politicians, Integrated Care Systems, local authorities and other key stakeholders. • Produce high-quality policy briefings, consultation responses, articles, blogs and other communications to support influencing activity. • Analyse policy developments, legislation and research to identify opportunities and risks affecting palliative and end-of-life care. • Support the development and delivery of campaigns and projects that improve care for people living with a terminal illness. • Work collaboratively with colleagues across research, communications and caring services to maximise the impact of policy and public affairs activity. • Represent Marie Curie at meetings, events and conferences, raising the charity’s profile and influencing key audiences. • Help communicate policy developments across the organisation and contribute to Marie Curie’s external communications, including social media.
• Experience or a strong aptitude for public affairs, policy, campaigning or stakeholder engagement. • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive reports, briefings and consultation responses. • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging a wide range of stakeholders. • Ability to analyse complex research, legislation and policy information and translate it into accessible, impactful messages. • Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders. • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. • Political awareness and sound judgement. • Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience. • Understanding of or the ability to quickly gain an understanding of the structures and working of local government and Integrated Care Systems, alongside knowledge of current health and social care policy issues in England.
