• Responsible for end-to-end tracking, analysis, and financial reporting for all restricted donations. • Develop, implement, and evaluate a global internal controls framework. • Lead compliance initiatives in a global context, including annual tax filings in Brazil and the U.S. • Develop and update global financial policies, identify opportunities for process automation, and collaborate with regional accounting teams. • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses as needed, maintain effective cross-functional communication, and ensure adherence to organizational policies. • Support the Vice President of Finance in overseeing and executing the organization’s investment strategy. • Provide guidance and peer review of financial results to support accuracy and team development. • Communicate financial information clearly across different functional and geographic areas. • Comply with all Mercy For Animals policies and procedures.
• Relevant experience in a similar role in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related fields; master’s degree preferred. • Knowledge of financial management and accounting practices in Brazil, with additional experience in international financial practices. • Knowledge and application of accounting principles, including financial statements. • Results-oriented with excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills. • Availability to travel. • Fluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken). • Support for Mercy For Animals’ philosophy and the ability to professionally represent the organization’s positions. • Commitment to and openness toward continuous personal and organizational growth in the principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. • Alignment with Mercy For Animals’ mission and values.
