• Handle a portfolio of claimant serious injury claims for Minster Law clients • Manage predominantly RTA-based cases involving complex technical issues and quantum, ranging from £125k to multi-million-pound values • Provide mentoring support to Serious Injury team colleagues • Act as a technical expert in a chosen specialism • Deliver excellent client care for clients affected by traumatic, life-changing events • Progress cases effectively and assist the Team Manager with new working practices and procedures • Communicate regularly with clients and conduct face-to-face meetings • Instruct and meet multidisciplinary experts, including medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, and counsel • Analyse evidence and research legal issues concerning liability, causation, and quantum • Draft statements, pleadings, schedules of loss, and other documents • Secure early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation • Optimise client settlements • Raise awareness of the department and develop Minster Law's profile through links with APIL, Headway, SIA, and related organisations • Report cases and prepare articles and testimonials • Motivate and manage the client case team against objectives and KPIs • Conduct monthly one-to-ones, technical and case reviews, feedback, and mentoring • Achieve agreed results and SLAs in a target-oriented, high-quality environment • Drive case progression, maximise recoveries, fee income, and time recording • Manage and reduce write-offs • Contribute to business development, strategy, and growth • Undertake other relevant and reasonable business tasks
• A qualified Solicitor or Fellow of CILEX with a minimum of 8 years Post Qualification Experience, or equivalent experience to charge and recover Grade A rates • Proven track record managing serious injury claims as the lead fee earner in a similar role • Experienced litigator with strong technical ability and practical knowledge of court procedures • Experience mentoring junior or developing colleagues • Commitment to excellent client care • Strong professional profile and experience developing a firm's profile within personal injury • Ability to achieve objectives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high work quality and client care • Previous supervisory experience desirable, including performance management, achieving objectives, and motivating/developing individuals • Excellent communication, negotiation, and objection-handling skills • Competence with case management systems, Excel, and Word • Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills • Self-motivated, positive attitude, and initiative • Ability to handle changing circumstances and challenging situations • Business development experience and strong industry network • Existing links with Headway, SIA, APIL, or similar associated bodies
