• Develop comprehensive lift plans for a wide range of lifting operations • Prepare lifting-related risk assessments and method statements for outage and maintenance activities • Select appropriate lifting equipment, cranes and accessories • Provide technical guidance on customer-supplied lifting equipment and tooling requirements • Work closely with engineers, project managers and site teams to gather necessary information • Maintain accurate lifting documentation and records • Support the development and continuous improvement of lifting procedures • Lead and coordinate all lifting operations during outages • Provide leadership and direction to crane operators, lift supervisors, riggers and all personnel involved in lifting activities • Monitor compliance with company procedures and health and safety legislation • Stop lifting operations where unsafe conditions are identified • Act as the primary point of contact for lifting operations on site • Adapt lifting plans in response to changing site conditions • Support investigations into lifting incidents and near misses
• Industry-recognised Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) qualification such as: CPCS A61 Appointed Person, AP62 Crane/Lifting Operations Supervisor, or ECITB Appointed Person – Moving Loads • NEBOSH National Certificate (or currently working towards) • Minimum 5–7 years' experience in lifting operations • Previous experience within a Safety Advisor role would be advantageous • Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, LOLER, PUWER, and safe systems of work for lifting operations • Experience developing lift plans, lifting risk assessments, and method statements • Knowledge of lifting planning software or CAD is advantageous • Strong leadership and team management skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
