⢠Select, train, and supervise operations review specialists conducting administrative hearings ⢠Monitor hearing officer performance for compliance with state initiatives and federal deadlines ⢠Monitor hearing dispositions for correct procedures, legal authorities, and consistent decisions ⢠Communicate with hearing officers, districts, and operations staff to improve effectiveness and resolve problem areas ⢠Provide technical assistance on hearing procedures and program policies for complex cases ⢠Develop and provide staff training when problems arise or rules and regulations change ⢠Conduct hearings for field staff training, special cases, or workload needs ⢠Research, review, analyze, and maintain current knowledge of applicable programs, statutes, court decisions, Florida Administrative Rules, federal regulations, and agency interpretations ⢠Assist the Chief in developing hearings-process policies, procedures, and guidelines ⢠Handle subordinate human resource matters, including hiring, evaluation, termination, and discipline ⢠Monitor compliance with applicable statutory and administrative requirements ⢠Distribute workload equitably among hearing officers through round-robin assignment ⢠Travel as required ⢠Perform other related duties as assigned
⢠Bachelor's degree preferred or minimum of 4 years experience ⢠Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in public assistance programs ⢠Master's degree or JD preferred ⢠Experience as a Hearing Officer utilizing the Uniform Rules of Administrative Procedure ⢠Experience making eligibility determinations for public assistance applicants ⢠Supervisory and management experience ⢠Valid driver's license; driver's license required ⢠Knowledge of administration and management techniques ⢠Ability to monitor processes ⢠Ability to make decisions and solve problems ⢠Ability to organize and prioritize ⢠Effective written communication, reading comprehension, speaking, problem identification, information gathering, and active listening ⢠Proficiency with equipment and software required for the position ⢠Candidate Profile must be completed in its entirety ⢠Supervisor names and phone numbers required for all periods of employment ⢠Employment gaps must be accounted for and explained ⢠Experience, education, training, knowledge, skills, abilities, and pre-qualifying responses must be verifiable ⢠U.S. citizenship or lawful authorization to work in the United States ⢠Successful State and National criminal history/background screening, including fingerprinting ⢠Compliance with Selective Service requirements where applicable ⢠Reasonable accommodation requests must be made in advance where applicable
