• Maintain and complete current and accurate Trauma Registry (inpatient, outpatient trauma patient) databases • Work is assigned according to patient census data • Review data input to assure accuracy and completeness of Registry records • Assist in the management of daily operations of the trauma registry • Collaborate with the Trauma Specialist to prepare required data for EMS/Trauma Committees • Assist in preparing reports to support ongoing program planning
• High school graduate or equivalent • 1-2 years’ experience in abstracting data from medical records, preferably ED/Trauma related • Experience in data collection using ICD-10 clinical manager codes preferred • Demonstrated ability to understand medical terminology and the ability to identify and abstract medical data from paper and electronic medical records • Strong typing and computer skills (data entry/retrieval techniques) • Demonstrated computer and software troubleshooting skills, including spreadsheets and word processing • Excellent written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills
