• Erect, dismantle, modify, repair, move, and maintain scaffolding • Perform daily pre-work inspections on scaffolding components and systems • Carry scaffolding components from staging areas to erection locations • Climb scaffolds and work at heights while maintaining 100% tie-off and following company procedures • Determine maximum intended load-carrying capacity for scaffolding types • Safely and correctly use hand and power tools • Identify hazards related to scaffold erection, dismantling, and modification, including electrical hazards and required clearances • Determine safe mitigations for dropped objects and falls from heights • Assemble fall-restraint and fall-protection systems in accordance with OSHA and MSHA policies and procedures • Perform other duties as assigned • Work without supervisory responsibilities
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required, or ten (10) years of Scaffold Builder experience will be considered • Minimum five (5) years of scaffold building experience • Current Competent Scaffold Erector Card/Certificate • Experience with tube and block, Safway systems, Wedge, and suspended scaffolding • Ability to safely climb scaffolds and work at heights with 100% tie-off • Knowledge of OSHA and MSHA policies and procedures for fall-restraint and fall-protection systems • Ability to determine scaffolding load-carrying capacity • Ability to identify electrical and other scaffold-related hazards and determine safe mitigations • Ability to safely use hand and power tools • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years preferred for eligibility under the company vehicle insurance policy • Steel-toed boots required • Valid identification required for TSA security checkpoints when traveling to and from the site • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds • Ability to work in high, precarious places, extreme cold, outdoor weather, loud noise, and around moving mechanical parts • Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, plus ability to adjust focus
