📋 Description
• Responsible for shaping and leading the vision and strategy to accelerate natural climate solutions in North America. • Provides strategic leadership and support for a multi-faceted strategy that includes carbon markets, land management, tax, and climate policy. • Coordinates effectively with staff and teams at multiple levels. • Serves as the principal contact to represent the Conservancy’s work externally. • Establishes the Conservancy as a leader in advancing natural climate solutions to mitigate climate change. • Leads and manages a team that carries out the strategy and builds strategic partnerships. • Plays a leading role in donor identification, cultivation, and stewardship.
🎯 Requirements
• BA/BS degree and 10 years’ experience in conservation, climate, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Fundraising experience, including identifying donor prospects and donor cultivation. • Experience directing a major program or project of strategic importance, including management/supervision of multi-disciplinary teams and meeting deadlines. • Understanding of current trends and practices in climate mitigation in North America. • Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives and managing performance. • Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups and/or government agencies. • Experience negotiating. • Experience influencing, developing and implementing conservation strategies and plans at the state or federal level. • Experience with financial management of a large program.
