📋 Description

• Define scalable, secure integration approaches using API-first, event-driven, batch/streaming, and canonical-model patterns • Lead end-to-end integrations from discovery and requirements through build, testing, go-live, and support • Manage dependencies and risks across multiple systems and teams • Design and build APIs, including specifications, versioning, error handling, and documentation standards • Drive implementation decisions and best practices for HL7 v2, FHIR, and X12 transactions • Partner with data owners, security, compliance, product, engineering, and client stakeholders to align on data sharing, definitions, governance, and timelines • Run high-stakes discovery sessions and develop integration strategies, solution options, and trade-offs for technical and executive audiences • Establish integration and data migration runbooks and observability practices for transaction logging, monitoring, alerting, and data reconciliation • Drive root cause analysis and durable fixes for production issues • Define testing strategies and support UAT to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and continuity • Represent integration status, risks, and recommendations to leadership; escalate blockers with options and clear asks • Build repeatable playbooks and raise the technical bar • In the first 90 days, build stakeholder trust, assess the integration portfolio, identify five high-impact improvements, refine reference architecture and standards, and deliver a complex integration milestone end-to-end

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in integration engineering, interoperability, technical consulting, or systems integration, ideally in healthcare, payer/provider networks, or health tech SaaS • Hands-on experience designing/implementing integrations using HL7 v2 and/or FHIR • Familiarity with X12 transactions, including 270/271, 276/277, 834, and 835, and HIPAA-related considerations • Strong grasp of synchronous/asynchronous, batch, queues/events, and canonical-model integration patterns • Ability to design and build APIs and related integration components • Comfort with API design/documentation and testing tools such as OpenAPI/Swagger and Postman • Experience with at least one modern backend language/framework, such as Java/Kotlin, C#/.NET, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript/Node • Experience with authentication/authorization patterns such as OAuth2/JWT and secure data exchange • Proven ability to own delivery outcomes and work prioritization in complex, multi-system environments • Ability to align and influence cross-functional stakeholders through clear communication, persistence, and structured decision-making • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across distributed systems • Ability to diagnose integration failures, data quality issues, and partner interoperability gaps • Ability to author technical specifications, interface agreements, runbooks, and executive-ready status updates
