📋 Description

• Provide Systems engineering support for in-service and new vessel design. • Provide support to shipboard engineering systems. • Work with stakeholders. • Use, maintain, and improve document authoring and drafting practices and tools to develop reports, manuals, and drawings with high efficiency and accuracy. • Lead team to carry out Outyear Engineering Requirements for various class of ships including T-AKE. • Design and develop fluid systems using design software such as Pipe FLO and spreadsheet calculations. • Design and develop interfaces between ship systems and new equipment. • Author and develop design reports to accompany in-service modifications to ship systems. • Develop advanced proficiency in 2D drafting practices to improve in-service modification.

🎯 Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance • BSME in Marine Engineering • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with ship machinery and systems • Ability to write concise reports and specifications in English with minimal oversight in MS Word making use of features such as styles, fields, and references • Proven track record in ship design, modification, or maintenance projects • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint • Ability to work alone on individual projects with minimal supervision and with other Engineering Disciplines on a team • Ability to interface with team members, technical leads, and Project Managers • Ability to review and apply US Navy and/or US commercial ship design requirements, including DOD acquisition, system safety, and testing processes • Excellent verbal communication skills • Willingness to travel 10% of the time
