📋 Description

• Analyze system performance • Identify, design, and implement performance enhancements and new features • Participate in introducing and productizing new servers and hardware • Extend metrics collection and create visualizations to quantify system performance • Build tooling to identify system performance problems faster • Improve the performance and efficiency of Akamai's Intelligent Platform across virtualized and bare-metal environments • Contribute to Linux kernel and operating system innovation for Akamai's global distributed network

🎯 Requirements

• 8 years of relevant experience • Bachelor's degree or its equivalent • Extensive programming experience in C • Experience with Rust, Python, Bash, or Perl • Deep understanding of the Linux kernel • Understanding of computer system architectures and the intersection between software and hardware • Experience with virtualization technologies including Qemu, KVM, SVM, and VHE • Experience with hardware enablement and debugging, especially board bring up and/or GPUs • Experience with debugging and performance analysis tools such as perf, bcc tools, and BPF • Experience with concurrent programming, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis • Knowledge of PCI express, CXL, CCIX, and USB • Passion for solving difficult problems, independence, and commitment to code quality
