• Direct a team of Territory Account Specialists to deliver tailored customer experiences and generate demand • Recruit, develop, retain, mentor, and lead a diverse team to achieve strategic sales objectives • Establish team accountability, communicate expectations, supervise KPIs, and manage performance • Mentor Territory Account Specialists in coordinating resources and planning total account calls • Develop and implement customer-centric business plans with customer engagement and cross-functional partners • Serve on the regional leadership team contributing to regional goals, business execution, team development, and culture • Build a high-performance, customer-centric culture that encourages collaboration, problem-solving, experimentation, and accountability • Develop team knowledge of clinical, access and reimbursement, territory management, and omni-channel marketing tools • Leverage analytics platforms to guide decisions and identify risks and opportunities • Oversee deployment of strategic face-to-face meetings, omni-channel resources, total office calls, and cross-functional partners • Travel extensively across the assigned geography and conduct regular field interactions with Healthcare Providers, Key Accounts, and Systems of Care
• Bachelor’s degree required from a 4-year college or university • 2+ years’ experience as a first-line sales manager • Leadership experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed sales teams • Candidates from medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences services, insurance, consumer health, or B2B sectors are also welcome • Demonstrated strategic thinking and enterprise mindset • Demonstrated success attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent while building high-performing, collaborative teams • Proven ability to drive sales growth, lead cross-functional partnerships, and execute strategic initiatives in complex, multi-regional environments • Experience managing field organizations through change, innovation, or growth highly valued • Candidate must reside within the territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 100 miles from the territory border • Ability to travel 60–80% over a broad geography and drive and/or fly within the territory • Fully valid and unrestricted driver’s license required • Experience leading sales teams in promotion to large practices, hospitals, IDNs, and Systems of Care, with outpatient and inpatient reimbursement knowledge desirable • Area Business Leader II requires 4+ years’ first-line sales management experience • Senior Area Business Leader requires 8+ years’ first-line sales management experience • Company will not sponsor visas for this position • Internal Sales Associates are eligible if they successfully completed Novartis ELDP or have 2+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech sales management experience within the last two years prior to joining the company
