📋 Description

• We're looking for our first Developer Advocate to join the Nuon team. We're looking for a motivated individual who thrives in an early-stage environment and is comfortable working asynchronously, thrives in ambiguity and is happy wearing many hats. • This person is driven to provide value to the community. They want to inspire, inform, and involve developers. They want to evangelize new approaches to how we deploy software. • This person welcomes the challenge to develop their own point of view. They communicate in a way that is crisp, engaging and contextual. You might say that they are a professional analogy maker. • Shepherd and energize a developer community around Nuon both online and in-person • Write blog posts, speak at conferences and meetups, create demonstrations, facilitate Q&A sessions, etc. • Create awareness through thought-provoking technical content that educates developers - e.g. blogs, eBooks, product documentation, workshops, demos • Maintain a reliable view of the people and organizations in the community and what they need, driving activity to enhance the developer experience • Uncover the common issues self-serve users face in Nuon, and create content such as tutorials, example notebooks, docs guides, or videos to help them through those issues. • Engage with users on Nuon forums, social channels, etc. • Proactively create instructional materials (content, videos, and code samples) for our docs, social profiles, and community forum. • Collaborate with Engineering and Product to influence the product roadmap as the “voice of the community.”

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a software developer or developer advocate • Fluency with the modern deployment stack • Engaged in technical communities via GitHub, Medium, DZone, Stack Overflow, Reddit, LinkedIn, etc. • Excellent speaking, presentation, and writing skills, especially for the developer audience • Excellent people skills - this role will interact with many cross-functional teams and the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively will be critical to the success of this role • Positive, collaborative attitude with a willingness to learn • Up to 50% travel required, some international • Willingness to attend evening meetups and events in the SF Bay Area (if local) • Bonus points: Small event planning and execution experience • Bonus points: Video creation experience • Bonus points: Partnerships experience
