📋 Description

• Design, develop and test new features for the platform while maintaining a consistently active technical role. • Maintain and improve the existing codebase, quickly fixing bugs and refactoring problematic code when needed. • Write clear, well-structured code based on separation of concerns and the project architecture, following the correct semantics of the team's subdomains. • Promote standards and best practices, balanced testing guided by the testing pyramid, and consistent code reviews to raise overall quality. • Lead research and experiments when tackling new and challenging requirements. • Perform complex tasks such as capacity planning, load testing and security improvements. • Conduct regular 1:1s, define and follow Individual Development Plans (IDPs), perform performance reviews and support team well-being and workload balance. • Structure and continuously improve team rituals: planning, daily stand-ups, reviews/demos and retrospectives, ensuring cadence and predictability. • Co-define the technical roadmap with Product, making decisions about trade-offs between scope, cost and delivery time, and ensuring alignment with company objectives. • Coordinate reliability initiatives (observability, performance, security) and execute risk-prone maintenance with planning and communication to minimize customer impact. • Define, measure and communicate team metrics (throughput, lead time, cycle time, quality, test coverage, availability, technical debt), using them for decision-making and coaching. • Lead incident response within the team's scope, coordinating people, prioritizing actions and ensuring clear communication with stakeholders. • Participate in recruiting/selection, onboarding and identification of future leaders.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience in Ruby on Rails (at least 5+ years) with TDD/BDD (unit and integration), Git, code review, continuous integration and development/test environments; • Knowledge of PostgreSQL or another similar relational database, and MongoDB and/or Redis; • Experience building and consuming APIs and maintaining applications based on (micro)services; • Some experience with other programming languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, Go; • Solid experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript; • Advanced knowledge of the HTTP protocol; • Proficient in written English and at least good spoken English skills; • Basic understanding of how Amazon Web Services (AWS) works; • Be a self-sufficient user of Linux or macOS (or Windows with WSL2) who is comfortable using the terminal; • Previous experience in technical leadership (tech lead, mentoring or coordinating initiatives); • Ability to conduct 1:1s, provide constructive feedback and track people's development; • Experience defining and tracking engineering metrics and agile processes; • Clear, concise and objective written communication skills — able to synthesize complex problems into short, actionable messages.
