📋 Description

• Own end-to-end procurement accountability for a residential low-carbon technology category: heat pumps, EV chargers, or solar and battery storage • Build and deliver category strategy to improve hardware margin through strategic sourcing, supplier renegotiation, direct sourcing expansion, value engineering, and tail spend control • Deliver and track multi-year cost reduction against P&L targets • Secure supply continuity through dual-source arrangements and proactive supplier risk management • Own supplier commercial performance and governance, including contract negotiation and renewal, supplier segmentation, business reviews, and escalations • Partner with Planning through weekly Materials Reviews and S&OP forums to ensure inbound material availability and manage variances • Collaborate with Technical, Operations, Finance, Commercial, and Product on new product introductions, working capital, and commercial solutions

🎯 Requirements

• Commercial and supplier-facing experience in direct procurement, ideally within residential low-carbon technology or adjacent categories such as HVAC, white goods, or building products • Proven track record of leading end-to-end sourcing and delivering multi-million pound cost reduction against committed targets in supplier-facing commercial roles • Understanding of supplier P&Ls, cost breakdowns, market drivers, and commercial leverage • Direct experience of low-cost country sourcing, including Asian supply markets • Ability to self-direct and own a category with clear commercial outcomes • Resilience and non-conformist instincts • Ability to prioritise category strategy, live supplier issues, cross-functional projects, and transformation contributions under load • Willingness to travel to suppliers and manufacturing sites, including international travel to key production regions, around one week per month on average
