âą Manage the entire art outsourcing process, including sourcing vendors, onboarding new partners, and maintaining communication with external art studios and individual artists. âą Work closely with internal lead artists and our Art Director to determine project needs, establish asset specifications, and effectively communicate this information to external partners. âą Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of various workflows (3D modeling, texturing, animation, etc.) and ensure seamless integration of outsourced assets into the project pipeline. âą Create and implement a cohesive pipeline that supports efficient asset delivery, reviews, revisions, and final approvals. âą Proactively identify potential issues or bottlenecks in the outsourcing process and implement effective solutions to ensure on-time delivery while maintaining quality standards. âą Foster strong, transparent communication channels with external partners, providing clear feedback, guidance, and support throughout the asset creation process. âą Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Art Directors, Producers, and Project Managers, to align project goals, schedules, and expectations. âą Regularly evaluate external partnersâ performance to assess their capabilities, quality, and compliance with project requirements. âą Negotiate contracts with vendors, define costs and deliverables, obtain legal and finance approvals during negotiation, and continue to manage and monitor costs and budget once contracts are in place.
âą Previous experience as an Art Outsource Manager or in a similar role within the games industry, ideally with at least one published AAA title. âą Strong knowledge of workflows for different types of game assets, including environments, character models, VFX, and concept art. âą Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey artistic vision, feedback, and technical requirements. âą Strong organizational and project management skills, with proven experience managing multiple outsourcing tasks simultaneously. âą A deep understanding of the game development process and the ability to align art outsourcing activities with major milestones and internal project timelines. âą Familiarity with standard industry tools and software used for asset creation and management. âą A creative eye for detail and a strong appreciation for visual aesthetics, ensuring delivered assets align with our artistic vision. âą Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically to address potential challenges and optimize the outsourcing process. âą A solid understanding of project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
