📋 Description

• Build and ship multiple AI-powered product features across agentic workflows, spend intelligence, automated actions, and more • Advise Product, Design, Engineering, and business stakeholders and help prioritise what is worth building • Evaluate, monitor, and operationalise AI features, including evaluations, drift and performance tracking, and safe prompt changes in production • Act as a design partner to the GenAI Core platform team by providing requirements and validating platform choices in production • Establish and enforce standards for AI feature delivery, including evaluation, monitoring, prompt/versioning, privacy, and safety guardrails • Collaborate across Product Engineering, AI Platform, and Data & ML Platform teams • Mentor engineers through reviews, pairing, and lightweight playbooks • Partner with the Principal Engineer to define Pleo's approach to AI feature development • Shape the GenAI Core tooling and feature roadmap • Collaborate with Product and Data teams to ship an initial feature to production

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience shipping multiple GenAI features into production at scale in a customer-facing product • Ideally, experience shipping multi-step, tool-using agents in a user-facing product • Ability to autonomously scope, design, and build scalable AI solutions from complex business challenges • Deep applied AI judgment covering evaluation, retrieval quality, tool use, failure modes, and build decisions • Experience applying evaluation and observability to LLM systems, including tests, golden sets, online metrics, and monitoring • Strong understanding of privacy and security concerns for LLM applications, including prompt injection, PII handling, and data leakage risk • Solid experience with Vector DBs, orchestration and durable execution frameworks, and LLM APIs • Experience building APIs, services, and data retrieval pipelines, including RAG and vector search • Deep proficiency with Python, SQL, and major cloud providers • Extensive traditional ML engineering background • Deep understanding of architecting and building reliable, scalable production data systems • Ability to influence Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders cross-functionally • Experience with GCP, BigQuery, Airflow, AWS, Kotlin, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Kubernetes is a bonus • Must be physically based in the selected country with a valid right to work • Visa sponsorship is not available • Application must be submitted in English
