📋 Description

• Review existing system design and data architecture • Update documentation, data dictionaries, and data models • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models • Support data engineers on ingestion tasks • Build data models aligned with organisational requirements • Ensure documentation is reviewed and approved by the central data architecture team • Develop Data Architecture and Governance Plans • Design the new service’s data architecture in alignment with the existing organisational data platform, established patterns, and processes • Support Data Engineers and Data Analysts • Support design, development, and deployment of platform infrastructure, Azure services, and Databricks services for dataflows and integrations • Verify data models meet functional and nonfunctional requirements • Improve engineering processes • Establish service measures and support data pipelines and processes • Participate in communities of practice, ceremonies, and approval forums as required • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to establish robust data structures, governance practices, and scalable data-platform solutions

🎯 Requirements

• Experienced Data Architect able to lead client engagements, design scalable data platforms, and align technical solutions with business outcomes • Experience with Azure services and Databricks services • Experience designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models • Ability to support data engineers and data analysts • Ability to design, develop, and deploy platform infrastructure, dataflows, and integrations • Ability to verify data models against functional and nonfunctional requirements • Ability to improve engineering processes • Ability to establish service measures and support data pipelines and processes • Ability to ensure documentation meets acceptance criteria and is approved by central data architecture/platform teams • Strong stakeholder communication and cross-team collaboration • Analytical and solution-focused mindset • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive progress • Commitment to clean, scalable, well-documented engineering • Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in dynamic delivery environments • Prior experience working within UK Public Sector environments or with Government Digital Standards is desirable • Candidates must be eligible to work with UK Government departments / BPSS
