📋 Description

• Create complex dbt models, custom macros, and reusable packages • Optimize transformations and implement robust testing strategies for data integrity and model performance • Design and maintain a semantic layer with well-defined metrics, dimensions, and descriptions • Build and productionise LLM-powered pipeline steps such as free-text categorization and record enrichment • Establish evaluation frameworks, cost and latency monitoring, and fallbacks for LLM-powered transformations • Design and adopt agentic workflows for model generation, documentation, test coverage, code review, and incident triage • Define guardrails and review processes for agentic workflows • Monitor and maintain dbt workflow jobs, data refreshes, and up-to-date pipelines • Own data models powering BI analytics and company-level reporting • Write tests and assertions validating data integrity and consistency • Build evaluation sets for natural-language and LLM-driven output accuracy • Document and standardize dbt processes and semantic definitions • Translate technical data issues into understandable business terms • Support junior analysts and data engineers through mentoring • Collaborate with product, engineering, and BI teams on evolving data infrastructure needs, including AI-driven products and internal tools

🎯 Requirements

• Deep experience with dbt and SQL to design, build, and maintain scalable data models • Experience defining metrics, entities, and business logic in a semantic layer, such as dbt Semantic Layer/MetricFlow, Cube, LookML or similar • Understanding of what makes a model reliable for natural language querying • Hands-on experience using LLMs in data work, including classification, extraction, or enrichment within transformations • Understanding of how to evaluate, test, and govern non-deterministic outputs • Familiarity with AI coding assistants and agents, such as Claude Code, Cursor, or MCP-based tooling • Strong familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP • Passion for ensuring high data quality through tests, assertions, evaluations, and robust documentation • Ability to understand business needs and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders • Skilled at working cross functionally and translating complex technical concepts into actionable business insights • Proficiency in designing repeatable, scalable data-transformation workflows combining automated agents with human oversight
