• Support the safe, effective use of medicines across Psychiatry UK • Providing clinical, operational, and governance support under the direction of the Lead Pharmacist • Contribute to medicines safety, prescribing quality, and regulatory compliance across the organisation • Support the development of the medicines optimisation strategy, implementation and evaluation • Assist in the review and monitoring of prescribing practices to ensure compliance with legislation and organisational standards • Support the management of medicines-related incidents and complaints • Contribute to the analysis of prescribing trends and escalation of risks to the Lead Pharmacist • Assist in responding to MHRA Drug Alerts and Medicines Recalls • Support the management of medicines shortages, including risk assessment and identification of suitable alternatives • Be a point of contact as expert knowledge to answer queries related to prescribing and medicines management from other healthcare professionals • Work in collaboration with partner organisations and healthcare stakeholders to ensure the safe and effective delivery of pharmaceutical care • Support responses to external medication-related queries • Audit, quality improvement, and data support for medicines-related audit programmes • Maintain and develop advanced clinical pharmacy knowledge to support safe, effective and patient-centred care
• A Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree and have completed one year of pre-registration training • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to build strong working relationships across multidisciplinary teams • Be engaging, compassionate and caring when communicating with patients, families and carers • The successful candidate will be able to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment • Work independently while taking ownership of tasks and projects • Think critically to solve complex problems • Collaborate effectively with colleagues • Relevant experience in mental health, enabling management of complex medicines issues and queries • Understanding of relevant legislation, risk management and best practice in prescribing and medicines management • Experience conducting clinical audit and data analysis • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team • Advanced digital skills, including proficient use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
