📋 Description

• Design substations utilizing applicable codes and client standards • Create general arrangements, equipment and electrical layouts, elevation views, cable trenches, grounding, conduit drawings, details, bills of material, and AC and DC power systems • Design ground grids using applicable codes and industry software • Design lightning protection and grounding plans • Complete AC and DC load, bus span, and ampacity calculations • Create equipment and material specifications for procurement of engineered equipment • Develop design scopes and cost estimates • Complete conceptual designs and layouts for facility planning studies • Prepare support documentation for procurement, construction, and operation/maintenance • Direct and/or participate in client meetings and job site visits • Ensure QA/QC processes are followed for design packages

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in substation physical design • Experience working directly with electricity, preferably in utilities • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation • Microsoft Office product application proficiency • Excellent document management and organization skills • Strong attention to detail • Ability to multitask and work with a variety of projects and deadlines • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Must have PE license
