📋 Description

• Diagnose fundamental root causes of complex data issues and execute clear, defensible long-term plans • Design future-state data architecture across legacy and modern platforms • Develop realistic migration, sequencing, and rollout strategies • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Enterprise Architecture leadership • Establish data architecture standards, review practices, and comprehensive documentation • Serve as a subject matter expert on enterprise architecture questions where data intersects with product strategy • Create an actionable data roadmap with explicit tradeoff analysis • Reduce data inconsistencies emerging from new feature development • Build alignment and trust with engineering and product leadership through evidence-based technical decisions and collaborative problem-solving

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Architect, typically 8+ years; higher experience for Staff/Principal levels • Deep expertise in target-state architectural design rather than operational database administration (DBA) • Deep fluency in relational and NoSQL data modeling, schema design, and data governance • Strong background in event-driven and streaming architectures, including event buses and message queues • Proven track record of untangling messy, legacy, or under-schematized environments and migrating them toward modern frameworks • Deep experience designing cloud-native data architectures; AWS strongly preferred • Experience defining data retention, lifecycle, backup, and disaster recovery (DR) strategies • Ability to articulate technical decisions clearly, defend proposals with evidence, adapt to new data, and operate effectively in ambiguous environments • Ability to communicate complex proposals in a simple and succinct manner • Healthcare, EMR/EHR, Health-Tech, or HIPAA-regulated domain experience preferred • Prior experience building or standing up a dedicated data/platform architecture function from scratch preferred • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
