• Lead and take technical responsibility for utility network design projects (water, wastewater, district heating, gas, power/cable routes) from preliminary design through to detailed design • Develop and review technical concepts, hydraulic calculations, longitudinal and cross profiles, and node/junction solutions • Coordinate with internal disciplines (traffic planning, sewer network modelling, construction supervision, geotechnical engineering) and external stakeholders (clients, utility providers, authorities) • Prepare specifications, cost and schedule estimates, and tender documentation • Manage risks, perform quality control and ensure compliance with standards, guidelines and technical regulations • Lead and mentor (junior) engineers; promote professional development and knowledge transfer within the team • Support procurement processes, contract negotiations and construction supervision through to project handover • Represent the department in client meetings and presentations
• University degree (Dipl.-Ing., Master, Bachelor with relevant professional experience) in Civil Engineering, Utilities/Building Services Engineering, Infrastructure Planning or a comparable discipline • At least 6–8 years of relevant professional experience in utility network design / technical infrastructure; experience in project leadership • Confident use of design and CAD/GIS tools (e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS) and calculation software (e.g. DWA tools, HEC‑RAS, hydraulic calculation tools) • Good knowledge of applicable standards and regulations (DIN, DWA, ATV, local regulations) • Experience with tendering, specification (bill of quantities) preparation and cost estimation • Proficient in MS Office; experience with project management tools is an advantage • Strong leadership and communication skills; experience in leading teams and supervising junior staff • High sense of responsibility, structured and solution-oriented working style • Confident, professional manner in interactions with clients and authorities • Fluent German (spoken and written); good command of English is desirable • Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings
