• Review student financial aid eligibility documentation for prospective and current students • Prepare accurate financial aid award packages • Implement financial aid policies and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, audit requirements, and organizational policies • Review financial aid applications and determine eligibility for awards • Complete federal verification, quality assurance, and comment code resolution • Provide information to admissions and advising teams to obtain missing student documentation • Maintain minimum weekly award-package completion rates • Maintain current knowledge of the organization’s products, services, and the financial aid field through professional development • Represent the organization accurately and follow through with prospective students, enrolled students, business community members, and high school officials • Collaborate with admissions, advising, and other employees • Follow processes that streamline awarding and delivery of aid programs • Review and certify private loan applications weekly • Track financial awarding, approvals, payments, and related documentation accurately and timely • Maintain eligibility and access to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) • Attend and participate in team and Student Financial Aid department meetings • Participate in lean processes and strategic planning activities • Support the organization’s diversity, equity, and inclusion commitment • Perform other assigned duties • Report directly to the Manager, Financial Aid Processing and Awarding
• Associate degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field required • Bachelor’s degree preferred • Minimum of one to three years of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills • Excellent organization and time management skills • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands with minimal supervision • Ability to maintain records and files with precision and accuracy • High level of professionalism and telephone etiquette • Excellent customer service skills • High aptitude for math • General knowledge of the higher education industry preferred, but not required • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Working knowledge of CampusNexus financial software preferred • Strong command of the English language, orally and in writing • Must maintain eligibility to access the National Student Loan Data System; must not have defaulted on any student loan or be currently in default • Must comply with applicable state and federal regulations, audit requirements, and University policies • No direct reports
