• Co-lead the supportive editorial team for the International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders (Paediatric) • Lead strategic and editorial development of the journal • Maximise dissemination of high-quality research in communication and swallowing disorders • Assess the strengths and areas for development of the IJLCD • Present a vision for the IJLCD and its short- and longer-term development • Handle peer review and contribute to academic publishing • Provide leadership and strategic development • Commit to a minimum term of three years
• PhD in a relevant academic discipline • Extensive knowledge, skills, and senior experience in research • Extensive experience handling peer review and in academic publishing, ideally at least at Associate Editor level • Working understanding of key issues and opportunities in academic publishing, including Open Science and implications of AI • Knowledge, skills, and experience in leadership and strategic development • Commitment to carrying out the role for a minimum term of three years • Senior clinical and research experience as an SLT is desirable • Membership of the RCSLT is desirable • Covering letter, curriculum vitae, list of publications, and a short statement outlining the journal assessment and development vision • Applications due by 9:00am on 05/10/2026
