📋 Description

• Lead the design, planning and implementation of an organization-wide strategic technical training program • Build a comprehensive, structured on-the-job training program for departmental leaders and trainers • Interface with senior leaders and cross-functional business process owners and secure resources for training strategy execution • Lead and mentor training colleagues • Lead a team responsible for standardized training across operations • Create and execute technical training strategy for Waste to Energy, Transfer Stations, Environmental Solutions and Profiled Waste • Prepare safety-focused curriculum for new entry-level employees and career-development training for the current workforce • Support curriculum development using role- and activity-based approaches and develop site training capabilities through train-the-trainer methods • Monitor learning maturity and continuously improve training systems and programs • Align training approaches and systems with enterprise resources and enable just-in-time or real-time instructional training • Serve as business process owner for technical training and technician qualification training • Maintain safe, standardized and regulation-compliant role-based training infrastructure • Develop innovative, immersive and simulative training methodologies • Tie learning objectives to business outcomes with measurable criteria • Work cross-functionally with enterprise and site training leads to ensure consistent methodology, processes, systems and tools • Develop plant-employee training materials, job aids and training documents • Analyze operating problems and future requirements to identify training needs • Coordinate training content with subject matter experts and QA teams • Support regulatory training, reporting and inspections • Create standard work for safety, environmental, technical, procedural, equipment and regulatory training • Manage the GPiLEARN+ Training Program and organizational LMS, including reporting, compliance readiness, seat-license renewal and invoicing • Develop, update and track on-the-job technical training completion • Monitor departmental training activities and maintain liaison with supported areas and plant sites • Facilitate departmental or site training through regional technical training specialists • Update curricula and course materials • Oversee and support Regional Technical Training Specialists, including performance reviews • Serve as a training resource for projects and process/equipment implementation • Stay current with training authoring software and delivery technology

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years of related experience creating technical training and leading a team of technical trainers in a manufacturing environment, particularly focused on operations and maintenance • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Science or Education/Development • Experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of manufacturing principles and techniques • Experience training both technical and non-technical subjects • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak in large group settings • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others • Ability to solve problems using LEAN methodologies to determine root cause and develop a sound plan • Strategic planning skills and a long-range perspective • Ability to implement training programs with broad periodic instruction and substantial latitude
