📋 Description

• Lead a design and research team comprising two product designers and one user researcher • Build the UX function, champion the team, and enable team success • Set the strategic direction and vision for design and research • Represent and advocate for design and research at leadership level • Partner with Product Leadership to translate business priorities into a sequenced Design & Research roadmap • Raise design and research maturity through constructive critique and quality oversight • Establish scalable initiatives such as a robust design system and design and content playbooks • Set strategic direction for AI in design and research workflows and establish usage guardrails • Foster team integration of AI into product work • Ensure design and research inform product and AI direction through user insight • Embed Design Thinking throughout the product lifecycle • Identify strategic UX opportunities across the product • Balance leadership priorities with team capacity and focus the team on high-impact work • Coach, mentor, and provide regular one-to-one feedback • Build career frameworks and progression paths for Design and Research • Encourage continuous learning, adaptability, and development

🎯 Requirements

• Genuine understanding of both design and research disciplines • Proven experience in a senior design leadership role is required • Experience owning a function and leading teams of designers and researchers • Track record of influencing product direction at leadership level • Track record of advocating for design and research at leadership level and influencing product strategy • Experience building or maturing a design function, including processes, systems, playbooks, or ways of working from the ground up • Curiosity about AI and its impact on design and research workflows • Compassionate, proactive leadership style • Ability to navigate difficult stakeholder dynamics while maintaining composure and team trust • Strong communication skills translating design value for leadership, product, and engineering • Comfortable giving and receiving direct feedback • Hospitality or travel industry experience or familiarity preferred • Familiarity with building or scaling teams preferred • Experience building and maintaining a design system preferred • Startup or scale-up experience preferred • Must be eligible to work in the required location/timezone; RoomPriceGenie does not offer sponsorship
