📋 Description

• Lead the Telematics Technology engineering domain • Manage engineers who deploy, support, and operate production systems transforming granular driving data into risk signals • Partner with Data Science, Pricing, Underwriting, and other stakeholders on domain strategy • Set long-term vision and quarterly roadmaps for the Telematics Platform and Telematics Experience • Translate product and data strategy into actionable engineering roadmaps • Balance feature delivery with platform stability and prioritize technical investments • Manage and mentor the engineering organization • Foster mutual trust, open communication, ownership, accountability, and continuous growth • Identify talent gaps and drive recruitment, onboarding, and organizational design • Guide architecture for telematics pipelines with observability, reliability, and scale • Oversee complex technical initiatives and apply postmortem learnings • Improve development processes and accelerate time-to-market • Champion engineering excellence across the company

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years in software engineering • 3+ years in technical leadership or engineering management • Experience leading teams through periods of scale or high complexity • Ability to translate product, data, and ML roadmap needs into actionable engineering plans • Strong technical judgment building and scaling distributed data pipelines • Strong command of modern cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Terraform, and serverless architecture • Track record of developing engineers at varying seniority levels • Experience implementing development practices balancing rapid experimentation with production stability • Familiarity with build-measure-learn culture, technical debt management, retrospectives, and sprint planning • Proactive adoption and integration of AI tools and technologies • On-camera participation required for virtual interviews • MLOps and data science experience, telematics/sensor data pipelines/insurance or financial services background, and Datadog experience are bonuses
