📋 Description

• Drive the build-out of the semantic layer and MCP layer • Design and implement data transformations from raw ingested data into well-structured data models • Translate and codify business metrics into clear, governed definitions in partnership with stakeholders • Implement automated checks that ensure data quality • Contribute to the build of internal data dashboards • Drive data quality and governance in an FCA-regulated environment, where accurate audit trails are a regulatory requirement • Work closely with stakeholders to define data requirements • Provide technical leadership and champion best practices • Foster the adoption of new and innovative technologies • Act as a mentor and coach to less senior members of the team • Report into the Head of Data • Work within a team spanning analysts, analytics engineering, data science, and data engineering • Work alongside cross-functional product teams to solve real business problems

🎯 Requirements

• Expert-level proficiency in SQL, BigQuery, dbt and Python • Experience working with data pipelines, modern data ingestion and transformation patterns • Familiarity with modern data architecture patterns • Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code and analytics agents • Experience in building out a semantic layer and working with MCP • Strong grasp of engineering principles and writing maintainable, tested code • Strong background in Agile methodologies and Git for version control • Excellent communication skills and comfortable working with various stakeholders across the business, both technical and non-technical • A fintech or regulated financial services background would be great • Experience with AI/LLM infrastructure such as developing AI model evaluations would be great • Familiarity with event-driven architectures would be great • Experience working with real-time data and supporting infrastructure would be great
