• Lead the Synapse.org and biomedical tools ecosystem product portfolio and its outcomes • Drive cross-portfolio prioritization, build/no-build, sequencing, and tradeoff decisions • Align capabilities serving multiple teams and avoid duplicated development • Evolve long-term product vision while maintaining near-term delivery focus • Translate strategy into actionable priorities and remain accountable for what gets built, delivered, and adopted • Measure and improve product adoption, user value, and organizational impact internally and externally • Build relationships with researchers, principal investigators, program officers, and institutional partners • Maintain a direct user-listening cadence and incorporate insights into product decisions • Identify where AI-powered capabilities and partnerships create genuine researcher value and help deliver AI-enabled products responsibly • Shape positioning, pricing, and user experience for growing commercial offerings • Connect product strategy to research funding opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, and proposals • Lead and grow the Product Team, develop talent, establish product practices, and evolve the product function • Partner with design leadership on product design principles, standards, usability, accessibility, and cohesive user experiences • Advise the CTO and senior leadership on product direction, investment, experimentation, and strategic priorities • Report to Sage’s CTO • Travel twice per year for on-site events in Seattle, Washington
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience • 10+ years of progressive experience in product management and product leadership • Experience defining strategy and delivering outcomes across multiple products or an enterprise product portfolio • Success defining product vision and portfolio strategy, setting organizational priorities, and translating user needs into measurable product outcomes • Experience building and leading high-performing product teams and developing product leaders • Experience establishing scalable product practices • Strong user-centered product judgment • Track record influencing executive leaders and aligning engineering, design, science, and business stakeholders • Ability to operate in ambiguity and turn competing priorities, incomplete information, and funding constraints into clear direction and execution • Experience leading product strategy in a rapidly evolving AI landscape • Experience bringing AI-powered products, platforms, or strategic partnerships to market • Appreciation for responsible AI development and governance • Accountability for product outcomes, including adoption, customer value, and organizational impact • Excellent communication skills, executive presence, and credibility • Advanced degree in a relevant technical, scientific, or business discipline is a plus • Ability to work effectively under deadlines • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Attention to detail and accuracy • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments, priorities, and multitask • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work well in a team and maintain professionalism • Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and relevant laws and regulations • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer • Repeated wrist, hand, and finger movements • Clear vision for data analysis, transcribing, computer use, and reading • Occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds
