SASH is a Singapore-based organization building a global ecosystem for trustworthy and safe frontier AI. It bridges governments, academics and industry across East and West to advance practical, technical AI governance research (verification mechanisms, frontier safety, agent governance) and to operationalize that research through fellowships, training programs for policymakers and practitioners, events, briefings, and a co-working hub for AI governance and safety practitioners.

📋 Description

• Drive the transition from research prototypes to systems that policymakers can rely on • Reduce proving costs • Close the gap between current proofs and frontier inference behavior • Build systems suitable for review and sign-off by skeptical technical staff • Collaborate with hardware-security and systems colleagues and external cryptographers • Publish research so the approach remains checkable by others • Prove full inference transcripts from frontier-scale models end to end and report costs • Bring open prototypes to parity with proprietary systems • Improve data preparation using reference implementations as correctness oracles for AI-assisted optimization • Develop the field's research agenda • Design and analyze sub-sampling schemes under adversary models • Integrate exact floating-point hardware emulation or move inference to integer arithmetic with batch-invariant kernels • Build proof circuits for low-precision formats such as NVFP4 • Investigate proof-of-useful-work and proof-of-space schemes • Explore hiding model architecture through proof recursion • Red-team the constraint system

🎯 Requirements

• Built something real with a modern proof system such as Halo2, Plonky3, STARK-based stacks, or comparable systems, OR deep GPU and ML systems experience with willingness to learn proof systems • Comfortable reasoning about soundness, adversaries, assumptions, and critical arguments • Able to write code that others can attack and review • Willing to handle engineering tasks including generalising across model architectures and resolving numerical mismatches • Comfortable in ambiguous, early-stage environments • Strong candidates may have published work in applied cryptography, verifiable computation, or succinct proofs • Strong candidates may have low-precision numerics experience, including rounding modes and accumulation order • Strong candidates may have formal verification experience • Familiarity with lookup arguments, recursion, or folding schemes • Experience explaining cryptographic guarantees to non-specialists • Experience using AI systems as research collaborators on correctness-checkable problems • Comfortable maintaining some working-hour overlap with colleagues across regions

🏖️ Benefits

• Competitive benefits and leave policies • Remote/flexible work arrangement • Visa sponsorship in the UK for candidates interested in relocating • Working-hour flexibility with some overlap across regions
